Migrated to Erie, PA from Covington, Georgia in 1970. Taught and coached in the Erie School District for 34 years before retiring in 2004. Always had an interest in African American History stimulated more by Ms. Ada Lawrence, life-long resident of Erie and reading and viewing her family archives. Became interested in research and participated in the 1994 PHMC's African American History Conference in Erie. Wrote articles for the Journal of Erie Studies. Self published book in 2008 entitled, "Erie African Americans in 1880." Currently working short book of Wendell W. King. I'm a Local Living History Interpreter and have participated in PA Live and Learn Programs plus other venues.
